You may know them from any multitude of their hit singles including “Better Man,” “Boondocks,” “Pontoon,” or “Girl Crush.” Consisting of Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman, and Jimi Westbrook, the band has claimed their fame slowly but surely. Little Big Town is a GRAMMY, ACM, CMA, and AMA Award-winning group. Having a 20 year history with the country music community, the band has taken the industry by storm in the last decade. The four part band is famous for their mind blowing vocal harmonies, sweet country twang, and heartfelt performances. Writing music that is truthful and effortlessly raw, they have changed and shaped the way country music is played and listened to today.

It was no easy road to success for the quartet but Little Big Town found their way to the top. Beginning as a duo in 1987, Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman founded the band in their early years of college at Samford University. It wasn’t until 10 years later that the band became a trio with the addition of Jimi Westbrook and then in 1999 Phillip Sweet joined to finalize the quartet.

Signing with Mercury Records in 1999 only for the deal to fall through and then being taken up with the Dixie Chicks’ label, Monument Records, in 2002, the band released their debut album. Charting but not grasping a large audience, it wasn’t until 2005 that they gained a powerful fan base. With the release of The Road to Here, the band had four Top 20 singles and the album went platinum. LBT has performed with several accredited artists such as Sugarland, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Jake Owen, George Strait, Martina McBride, Zac Brown Band, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, and Luke Bryan.

One of the band’s latest singles was released on February 28th of this year. Teaming up with Thomas Rhett on “Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time,” it’s hard not to dance along. The song has a more poppy sound than LBT’s usual country twang, most likely provoked by Rhett; however, it is undeniably fantastic. Showing the diverse range of LBT, the band has the capability of collaborating shaping their sound to fit their association.

Describing the relationship of the band as “one big marriage,” the chemistry between the four is an unbreakable bond. Dedicated to making their dreams become reality, it has been their perseverance and determination that has led to Little Big Town’s success.

With unforgettable songs like “Better Man,” written by the infamous Taylor Swift, and the up beat, boot stompin’ “Little White Church” we can’t express how unbelievable their performances are. While they might portray a small town feel, the band has a tremendous sound. Staying true to themselves and creating music that they believe in, Little Big Town is a down to earth band that doesn’t take any of their accomplishments for granted.

Founded on harmonies and musical passion, this band is not one to sleep on. Whether you’ve got a “Girl Crush” or are hanging out on a “Pontoon,” Little Big Town has the perfect soundtrack. One of the most anticipated bands on our lineup this year, Little Big Town will be sure to please. With eight albums under their belt, we can only dream of the setlist at this year’s festival. Make sure you enter to win so that you can catch them at Live In The Vineyard Goes Country 2019 in Napa Valley!
